Florida Man Murders Wife; Shares Picture of Dead Spouse on Facebook

What is the world coming to when a man murders his own wife and posts the evidence on Facebook. I knew social media was taking over our world but now we have cold blooded confessions happening on people’s timelines.

Derek Medina, the 31 year old father shot and killed his wife on the morning of Thursday August 8, 2013. Jennifer Alfonso had been married to Medina since April 2012. There was a 10 year old child in the home during the time of the murder but she was unharmed. Medina claims that his wife was beating him as shown here:

Where’s George Zimmerman when you need him?

South Miami is known for the beaches and beauties but it has a reputation of being dangerous. In a city known for drug wars and gang violence, this domestic dispute turned murder is shocking the entire community. Neighbors who were interviewed claim Medina was a neighborhood watchman and carried a concealed weapon. That would thrust this case into the national media scene due to it’s similarities to the Trayvon Martin case. The state of Florida is still reeling due to declining public relations among minorities. After George Zimmerman was found not guilty, many African Americans decided to boycott the “Sunshine State”. Let’s hope this case brings peace and justice to the victim’s family.

The touchy point here is that not only did Medina kill his wife bad but he chose to post the aftermath to a social networking site for all of their friends and family to see. The picture is too gruesome to post here but if you’d like to see it, go here.
