“Virtual Insanity” by Jamiroquai Is Stuck In My Head!

Since this catchy song is stuck in my head, I decided to pass it along to the visitors of my blog. That’s not to say that you haven’t heard “Virtual Insanity” before but there are certain songs that should be shared fairly often so that it’s melody is not forgotten. I feel like this 1996 Jamiroquai tune has a special place in pop culture.

“The futures made out of virtual insanity…always seemed to be governed by this love we have…for useless, twisting, our new technology…oh now there is no sound, for we all live underground”

The lyrics provide a warning of a time soon coming where technology and virtual reality shape our relationships with each other. This song was pretty far ahead of it’s time seeing as it was 17 years ago. A deep distrust of mankind is displayed in the opening lyrics. Lead singer Jay Kay sings of greed in men’s hearts and the fear he has if these men ever gain power.

Go ahead kick back, crack open a beer, and put this song on repeat. This song will bring back nostalgia and if you can’t get enough, you can also check out the remix that uses Biggie Smalls lyrics!
